    A.  Course Registration

    B.  Course Registration Counseling
    In order to acquire credits more efficiently through the reinforcement of academic advising and guidance

    ※  For whom: Undergraduate students (including student on a leave of absence) who are going to register for the coming semester

    ※  When: 2 weeks before the course registration period starts.

    ※  Procedures: Click the course registration counseling menu at KAU 역량관리시스템.

    C.  Course Retake Requirements

        Previously acquired grades: C+ or lower (Without any acquired grades, students cannot retake the course.)

        Limitations of retaking courses

         - Register-able credits: Students can register within one’s maximum number of credits per a semester.
         - Maximum acquirable grades : A0

        Retaken course grades processing system
        - After newly acquired credits are processed completely, previously acquired credits will become invalid.


    D.  A Class/Course fails to properly open in case that:

    The headcount of students who registered the course is less than 10 for major courses and less than 20 for non-major courses (in accordance with Academic Regulations Article 9 Clause 6)




    E.  Graduation Certification System for International Students:
    International students should acquire TOPIK level 4 or higher before graduation

  • Regulations


    Undergraduate Regulations and Procedures
    All the important policies and procedures on Class Attendance, Observance of Semester Duration, Grading System and Retaken Courses are stipulated on Korea Aerospace University (KAU) Academic Regulation and/or its Detailed Enforcement Regulations.
     All undergraduate students are responsible for complying with the rules, regulations, policies and procedures uploaded in the university’s official website and publications.




    A.  Class Attendance

    Related Rules and Regulations: "Academic Rules on Class Management"

    1) Students are expected to attend all regularly scheduled classes at the University for which they are registered. In cases of illness, students shall apply for their absences using the "Electronic Attendance Management System." The grades of students who have met the requirements of the instructor in making up their work shall not be reduced for absence because of illness. Students are not to be penalized for "official" off-campus trips.

    2) Electronic Attendance Management System

    Student's class attendance is managed and controlled with "Electronic Attendance Management System." Each student can use his/her smartphone for signing in to each class he/she must attend.

    3) In case that a student misses a quarter (1/4) of mandatory class time, he/she will automatically receive "F" grade according to the "Electronic Attendance Management System" and "Grading System.“

    2) The aims of the grading system are to measure as fairly as possible the quality of students' work and to assess their overall performance. The system of letter grading is used to encourage evaluation on the basis of total performance.

    3) In case that a student misses a quarter (1/4) of mandatory class time, he/she will automatically receive "F" grade according to the "Electronic Attendance Management System" and "Grading System."

     

    C.  Retaken Courses
    Related Rules and Regulations: “Academic Rules on Grading System”

    1) A student must undergo the Registration Consultation with his/her academic advisor/professor prior to proceeding with retaking any course(s). The Registration Consultation may be conducted online for the student’s convenience.
    2) 
    Retaken course(s) cannot exceed the grade of Ao, and triple-time retaken course(s) cannot exceed the grade of B+.

     

    D.  Academic Warnings
    1) Related Rules and Regulations: “Academic Rules on Grading System”
    2) Academic Warnings will be issued to a student who received the followings:

    - GPA 1.80 or below

    - Repeated warnings for three consecutive times
    3) A student who received the repeated warnings are subject to Psychological Aid/Consultation Program and/or Academic Performance Enhancement Program.

     

  • Immigrations

     A.  D-2 Application for Overseas Applicants

    1) Required documents

    Application form, Passport, 1 Passport photo(taken within 6 months), Certificate of applicant’s bank balance(at least USD 15,000, home currency is also possible), Certificate of Enrollment, Registration number of educational institution(issued by the university), Original or notarized Certificate of graduation(transcript) issued by the most recent school attended and Original Academic Record Verification


    ※  
    A copy of family relationship certificate (e.g. birth certificate) is additionally required if the bank account belongs to a family member, not to the applicant
    ※  Certificate of Enrollment and Registration number of educational institution can be issued after students pay their tuition.(Documents can be sent by post to students)
    ※  
    Korea Aerospace University does not have any responsibility for cancelling admission due to visa disapproval by the Korean Embassy in consideration of student’s financial ability, educational background or any other.


    B.  Alien Registration Card

    1) Required documents

    ​​Application form, Passport (1 original and 1 copy), Certificate of Enrollment or Admission, 1 Color Photo (3.5x4.5cm with white background, taken within 6 months), Processing fee 30,000KRW (in Cash), Tuberculosis Screening (See below)
     Payment method for Issuance of Alien Registration Card (re-issuance) fee has been changed to cash payment from January 2011 based on Immigration Regulation Article 73, Clause 1
    ※  Photo: Taken within the last 6 months, white background, 3.5cm*4.5cm, colored, full-face view directly facing the camera


    2) Tuberculosis Screening for Foreign Registration

    ​​※  According to the Justice Department policy, Tuberculosis screening is required for all international students who are eligible for foreigner registration. (Starting from 1st December 2014)
     Recipient : International students from countries identified as high TB risk who are required for foreigner registration (D-2 Visa)
    ※  High Risk Countries: China, Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Thailand, Russia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka
    ※  TB Screening Method
         Visit your nearest clinic → Get an exam → Receive a medical report on the next day
         Required documents: Passport, 1 photo(3*4), processing fee 1,500KRW


    C.  Visa Extension

    1) Undergraduate students with D-2(Overseas Study) 

    ※  Required Documents  

    Application, passport, Alien Registration Card, Certificate of Enrollment, Transcript, Certificate of tuition fee payment or scholarship, Real estate or contract paper(or certificate of residence), Certificate of applicant’s bank balance with at least 15,000,000KRW, Processing fee 60,000KRW (Government Revenue Stamp)

    2) Graduate school students D-2(Overseas Study) (preparing a thesis)

    ※  Eligibility : Foreigners who have to unavoidably stay in Korea for an extended period after completing a degree course to prepare a thesis or some other academic reasons

    ※  Extension period : (Undergraduate) Maximum of 2 years,(Master’s) Maximum of 3 years (Ph.D.) Maximum of 5 years
    ※  Required Documents
    Application, Passport, Alien Registration Card, Certificate of Completion, transcript, Real-estate or contract paper(or certificate of residence), Processing fee 60,000KRW (Government Revenue Stamp)-Recommendation letter by a professor (form available)
