Global Exchange Program(GEP)
Exchange Student Program
A student is sent to study at an overseas university with which our university has a student exchange agreement for one or two semesters for the purpose of earning credits. During the exchange student period, tuition is paid to the home university and tuition fees for overseas universities are exempted.
Visiting Student Program
A dispatch program where you pay tuition to both your home and an overseas university and study at an overseas university for one or two semesters for the purpose of earning credits.

● Exchange students pay tuition only at their home university, and visiting students pay tuition at both their home and their partner university.
● The partner universities may change flexibly depending on the circumstances of the partner universities and KAU each semester, and the final selection of partner universities will be confirmed through the exchange student recruitment notice for the semester.
● Please check as the department and period of dispatch vary depending on the university to which you will be dispatched.
● The procedures after the selection of exchange students at our university are carried out by the students themselves as the characteristics are different for each university/department.

* Starting from the fall of 2020, students in their 8th semester can also apply. However, only those who agree to register for additional semesters will be selected.
* Re-application for the same program (exchange and visiting students) is not possible.

Restrictions
- Those who are disqualified from traveling abroad
- Those who submitted false documents
- Those who have completed the same program (exchange student and visiting student).
- Those expected to graduate right after the end of the dispatch semester, unless agreed to register for additional semesters
- It is not possible to study at an overseas university during the graduation semester (including those scheduled to graduate early).
Required Documents

2. Official transcript of KAU (Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher/4.5 point-scale)
3. Official Language Proficiency test score (Valid within 2 years)
Support and Departure
1. Orientation
2. Fill out an application for admission to the overseas university (application deadlines vary depending on the host university)
3. Final acceptance: Receive admission letter from overseas university
4. Visa application (must be confirmed by the embassy (consulate) of the sending country, apply 2 months before the date of entry)
5. Apply for dormitory and purchase flight ticket
6. Payment of home university tuition (for visiting students, also pay tuition at host universities)
Cancellation of Selection (Future application to the same program is not possible)
- If you request cancellation of dispatch after submitting the final dispatch pledge
- If the contents of the submitted documents are different from the facts
- If you are not diligent in your academic performance

2. Course Registration
- Before registering for courses at an overseas University, select major and elective subjects considering graduation requirements
- Confirmation of major (preliminary review of major credit recognition through the University's department office)
- Cannot take seasonal courses at overseas Universities
- Overseas University course registration and study
- Credit Recognition : Apply for a maximum of 18 credits per semester; courses taken at KAU cannot be retaken
3. Credit Recognition and Required Documents
- Submit your overseas University original transcripts to the KAU Office of International Affairs
- Submit overseas University transcripts and syllabus for courses requested for credit recognition to the Office of International Affairs
- Submit study report (Refer to the Study Abroad Document Forms)
- Final approval after review in accordance with the exchange student credit transfer procedures of KAU
* The approval of the major is determined by the department authority, make sure to check the recognition status of the major with respective department before proceeding with course registration.
** Spring semester grades (submitted by Aug. 15th), fall semester grades (submitted by Feb. 15th of the following year)
